About Toilet Zone
Toilet Zone helps you find public restrooms and drinking water nearby. Open the map to see what’s around you, including whether a place is free or paid when that info is available.
The idea came after a friend from Asia pointed out how surprisingly few public restrooms there are in many European cities — and how hard it can be to find one when seconds count. Toilet Zone grew from that moment into a map that helps you find a restroom anywhere in the world.

Are restrooms free?
It depends on the place. When we know if a restroom is free or paid, the map shows it — for example with a Free label on the pin.
How do I see restrooms in cafés and restaurants?
Open Filters (top right on the map) and turn on 'Restrooms in cafés and shops'. By default, the map shows dedicated public restrooms.
Is the drinking water on the map safe?
The map shows water sources mapped by the OpenStreetMap community — travelers and local volunteers. Labels 'Drinkable', 'Not drinkable', or 'Potability not specified' come from their knowledge and experience; they may not be based on an official lab test or authority approval. Even a 'Drinkable' label isn’t a guarantee from us or from the authorities. If you see 'Potability not specified', we don’t know whether it’s drinkable — check on the spot, for example by asking locals. If you’re unsure, don’t drink it.
Does it work offline?
You need an internet connection to load the map. You can also add Toilet Zone to your phone’s home screen for quicker access next time.
Where does the data come from?
From OpenStreetMap — a free world map built by volunteers (think Wikipedia, but for maps). Anyone can add or fix restrooms and drinking water there so the map stays accurate.
Do you track me?
We use cookieless analytics (Cloudflare Web Analytics and Umami) to understand traffic and which map features people use. We do not set tracking cookies or store personal identifiers. Analytics never receive your precise GPS coordinates — only anonymous signals such as the country of a toilet you open.
